What to expect during the assessment
Discover how many questions there are and how progress is tracked.
Question format and pacing
You will work through a series of statements and choose how strongly each reflects you. Progress indicators show exactly how much is left. Each question presents a statement about behaviors, feelings, or motivations, and you'll rate how accurately it describes you on a sliding scale.
The assessment uses carefully crafted questions designed to distinguish between the nine Enneagram types. Some questions might feel similar to others—this is intentional, as subtle differences in wording help us identify nuanced patterns in your personality. Don't worry if you feel some repetition; this contributes to the accuracy of your results.
You'll find that some questions are easier to answer than others. Questions that feel difficult or where you find yourself torn between responses are often the most revealing. These moments of uncertainty frequently highlight areas where you're in transition or where your type's characteristics are most apparent.
The assessment adapts slightly based on your responses, ensuring we gather the most relevant information for determining your type. This intelligent approach means you're not answering unnecessary questions while still providing comprehensive results.
Estimated time commitment
Most people complete the assessment in one focused sitting. Expect roughly 12–15 minutes depending on how quickly you respond. Some participants move through questions rapidly by trusting their initial instincts, while others prefer to reflect more deeply on each statement.
There's no time limit, and taking longer doesn't affect the validity of your results. What matters most is answering authentically rather than rushing. If you're someone who processes decisions carefully, give yourself permission to take the time you need.
However, be mindful of overthinking. If you find yourself spending several minutes on a single question, step back and trust your gut reaction. The assessment is designed to capture your natural patterns, not your most carefully curated self-presentation.
Plan for a few extra minutes after completing the questions to review your initial results. Many people appreciate having time to read through their type description immediately while their responses are still fresh in their mind.
